Meet Jamie:

The dreamer behind j.élia

I was first introduced to ballet at around six years old and instantly fell in love. Unfortunately, an unexpected injury forced me to step away - a decision that became one of my earliest regrets. I remained active through other means such as cross country and track, but dance no longer had a place in my daily life. After graduating from college, I immediately started a career in cloud technology and ballet felt like a whisper of the past. That changed when a childhood friend suddenly invited me to an adult beginner ballet class at a local studio. From the moment I returned to the studio, the spark was reignited, and I have since been continuing my training with inspiring teachers across Southern California.

As an adult returning to ballet and experiencing the anxieties and self-doubts that come with a new start, I realized how much confidence and self-expression can come from what we wear in the studio. This inspired me to create j.élia - a brand designed to honor the artistry and strength of dance through functional yet beautiful ballet wear fit for both the studio and the stage. With thoughtful details, romantic palettes, and intentional design elements curated to highlight the body, I am devoted to sharing collections that support and inspire every dreaming dancer.
